AOG Tops Winded Warrior Donations !
The US Air Force Academy Association of Graduates (AOG) supports Graduates and their families as they contribute to the Nation and their communities worldwide. AOG has also put its shoulder to the wheel providing top support for our little band of runners and sidekicks on the "Winded Warriors" Team. On top of nearly 40% growth in “clicks” to our website over the last week to promote donations, we are very grateful that AOG has pushed “Winded Warriors” to the top of the Hood-to-Coast charity Leaderboard!
Over the decades, the Class of 1970 has become known for making contributions with the AOG. This includes donation of the poignant and inspiring Southeast Asia Memorial Pavilion, which was dedicated by Superintendent LtGen Michael Gould (‘76) in the Plaza of Heroes before leadership including AF Chief of Staff Gen Mark Welsh (‘76), as well as our Classmates and families. (See video at left) This included our donation of the larger-than-life bronze statue of Medal of Honor winner Capt Lance Sijan, Class of 1965. (The striking sculpture and an impressive bronze relief map of Asia in the Pavilion were created by celebrated artist Jim Nance of the Class of 1971.) Closely partnered with the AOG are members of USAFA70 — including Winded Warrior Teammates Mike Lambert founding director, and Tom Stein director, of the USAFA Endowment -- linking arms with the AOG to serve the Academy, our Graduates and generations of Cadets and Officers to come. |
Thanks also to donors representing the following organizations & groups!
If you want to credit a donation to your USAFA Class, company/organization, or in honor of someone who has struggled with cancer:
- Please donate through one of our Team Members on their "Everyday Hero" ► page
- Then contact us here ► so we can add your organization's logo or name of the cancer fighter you honor. We welcome participation from every USAFA Class as we stand together in the Long Blue Line. We will include your Class Crest below, linked to your Class's history on the AOG ! So far, we have the following, but we're just getting started! Don't delay. We're nearly at the starting line, and AIR FORCE hits the asphalt for 36 hours non-stop.
